| Born
on the island of Java, Jojo Draven began her musical
career by playing in several local rock bands as a keyboardist
and sometimes vocalist. Tired of her classical piano
training, she looked to the best local guitarist to
teach her how to play the guitar. Soon after, she co-founded
and began touring nationally with a local all-female
band as the lead guitarist and the main songwriter.
After the band's quick success with its debut album
and constant tv and radio airplay, she relocated to
Los Angeles and studied at the world-renowned Musicians
Institute in Hollywood, CA. She then sought out and
became a protege of one of her favorite guitarists,
Alex Skolnick of the legendary thrash band Testament.
She joined several Los Angeles-based internationally-acclaimed
rock bands, toured the U.S., Canada, Europe and Asia,
and along the way won three Los Angeles awards as the
best female guitarist. She has been featured in numerous
prestigious publications: Cosmopolitan magazine, Guitar
World, national and international newspapers, and UK's
Horror Asylum. |

| As
she briefly diverged from her usual rock&roll performances
during one of her bands' hiatus to work in film production,
she received her first scoring break when offered to
write music for the film "Hell Asylum". Her
credits since include David DeCoteau's "Ring of
Darkness" and the currently on Canadian TV "Witches
of the Caribbean". Her latest accomplishment is
the motif-driven score for the award-winning supernatural
thriller "Ghost
Month", slated for a release July 2009, and
"The Invisible Chronicles" now playing on
here!TV channel. |
